Breast cancer awareness and Mammography camps during the month of March, 2026 were held in villages near Nagpur (Maharashtra), India

Camp 1
Maina Foundation, USA , sponsored Breast Malignancy Awareness & Mammography Screening for approximately 130 ladies of Wathoda Village in Kalameshwar district of Vidarbha. Wathoda village is 50 kms away from Nagpur, Maharashtra. Dr. Anuradha Shrikhande addressed 60 women giving information on Breast Cancer.

Population of the village is 600, around 130 females between age group of 30-65 were screened for presence of any breast lump and subsequently screened by Mammography for Radiological confirmation.

Camp 2
59 ladies attended this camp in a rural area. Self palpation of breast was taught and were examined by members of Sickle Cell Association Nagpur.

40 participants of this group were sent on March 9 2026 to Shalinitai Meghe Hospital, Radiology Department for Mammography screening.

Those with suspected abnormality will be followed up and treated at the hospital. Subsequent Batches of ladies will be sent for Mammograms in the following week. Along with this Pap screening will also be done to rule out Cervical cancers.

Transport & Food was provided by Shalinitai Meghe Hospital and Rotary Club of Nagpur.

Camp3
Total 40 ladies, mammography was done for all.
