FIRST QUARTER REPORT
Back in 2008, a small group of friends started a non-profit foundation to raise the awareness and help with early detection of breast cancer in women primarily in places with unaffordable and inaccessible healthcare services, Fifteen years later with the help and support of friends and the community we have reached thousands of women with our work and continue to advance our vision of ‘No lives lost to breast cancer’.

Donation to Backus Hospital, Norwich CT for their Integrative Medicine Program to help women with cancer care professional services at all stages of diagnosis and treatment.
Collaborative program initiated with Somaiya Hospital as a pilot project in 2013, celebrated its ten year anniversary to advance our mission of raising awareness of breast cancer and helping with early detection. Awareness of the disease has been created in thousands of women from low income communities, screening for early detection of breast cancer has helped 16 women diagnosed with breast cancer get the much needed treatment. The 10 year anniversary was celebrated in Mumbai with a gala function.
The All India Medical Institute at Rishikesh, India was funded to continue the breast cancer awareness program for the fifth year.
Sassoon Hospital, Pune, (below) was awarded funds for conducting diagnostic imaging studies for cancer detection in women with limited or no income from underserved communities. The state-run hospital was opened in 1867 and currently has 1,500 beds.
Awards received by Maina Foundation
• Maina Foundation was awarded $10,000 by Simona foundation NY to be used for the Somaiya Hospital program.
• Dr. Jayashree Kulkarni donated $15,000 for the Sassoon Hospital PET scan program.
